HIGHLIGHTS: Delft tour Blue factory | Vermeer Center | Mauritshuis: Girl with pearl earring | Panorama Mesdag
Johannes Vermeer was born in 1632 in Delft and he lived and worked here all his life.
On this Delft tour we visit the place from where Vermeer painted ‘Little Streets’ and ‘View of Delft’.
The Vermeer Centre offers an incredible visual voyage through the life of Vermeer. Go in search of his mentors and find the stories behind the paintings.
At a traditional, family run, Delft Blue earthenware factory, Delft Blue is still made and painted by hand. The same way as hundreds of years ago.
The Mauritshuis in The Hague is home to Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and View of Delft. And paintings from other famous Dutch painters.
Panorama Mesdag gives you a 360 degree vista of the sea, the dunes and the fishing village of Scheveningen as it was in 1881. The largest painting of The Netherlands is 14 meters (46f) high and 120 meters (394f) in circumference.
